About us

In January 2025, during a visit to Nakuru, Kenya, I was deeply inspired by the way South Sudanese artists spoke my heart through their songs. Their music felt like leadership, prophecy, and a source of peace — each lyric carrying wisdom, hope, and a message for the community.

It was in that moment I realised the power of giving our artists a platform to be heard. That’s when the idea of opening a studio in Nakuru was born. I wanted to provide South Sudanese artists with a microphone, a stage, and a space where they could express themselves freely and professionally.

From that vision, Johnson Sound Syndicate (JSS) was created — not only as a record label and music production studio, but also as an event organiser bringing artists and audiences together. Today, JSS is a platform where culture, music, and storytelling unite, helping artists share their voice, inspire change, and touch hearts across continents.

Our mission

Beyond the beats and production, the heart of Johnson Sound Syndicate is people, culture, and connection. What gets us up in the morning is the opportunity to: • Give artists a voice: Seeing South Sudanese artists step onto a stage or into a studio, confidently sharing their story, is our biggest motivation. • Celebrate culture: Preserving and sharing traditional rhythms while blending them with modern sounds drives everything we do. • Inspire and uplift communities: Whether it’s through a song, a live performance, or a cultural event, we want our work to leave people feeling seen, understood, and empowered. • Create meaningful experiences: Every track and event is designed to touch hearts, spark conversations, and bring people together.

✨ Simply put, JSS exists to turn passion into purpose, and music into a movement that connects people across borders, generations, and cultures.

Our artists

At Johnson Sound Syndicate (JSS), we’re honored to work with artists who not only bring incredible talent but also carry the spirit, stories, and culture of South Sudan. These are the musicians who make us proud and define the JSS vibe:

• Abraham Manut – A dynamic performer whose energy and authenticity light up every stage.
• Sunnyman Mony Akol – A storyteller at heart, using his songs to inspire and uplift the community.
• BeckieJohnz – Brings soul, passion, and fearless creativity to every track she records.
• Landit Parek – A rising star whose sound captures the depth of culture with a contemporary twist.
• Sevenna the Governor – A lyrical visionary who crafts messages of empowerment and hope.

Each of these artists embodies the core values of JSS: cultural authenticity, storytelling, and professional excellence. They are more than musicians — they are leaders, influencers, and voices of our community, and working with them drives everything we do at Johnson Sound Syndicate.

Our sound

If Johnson Sound Syndicate were a song, it would be a blend of tradition and modernity, rhythm and emotion, energy and reflection. Imagine:

• Beats that move your body – lively, infectious rhythms rooted in South Sudanese culture.
• Melodies that touch your soul – heartfelt vocals and storytelling that speak to identity, hope, and resilience.
• Layers of texture and sound – mixing traditional instruments with modern production to create something fresh and unforgettable.
• A vibe that inspires and connects – music that uplifts, unites communities, and leaves a lasting impression.

Simply put, the song of JSS would be bold, authentic, and full of life — a sound that makes you feel, think, and celebrate all at once.
